Colt SAA revolver, .45 cal., 4-3/4” barrel, old re-nickeled finish, iridescent pearl grips, #302955. This gun is in overall very good condition as re-nickeled some time ago; very good bore, crisp action, good markingsand beautiful period pearl grips with a couple old chips to the bottom toes of the grips; old collection brass disc numbered 166 attached to the trigger guard; this gun was sold years ago at the Butterfield’s auctionhouse and was from the Harold’s Club Collection; factory letter indicates gun was originally blue with stocks “not listed” and shipped to Speer Hardware Company in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on January 20, 1908 in ashipment of ten guns. It is interesting that Harold’s Club would have kept in their display, a re-finished SAA unless there was some additional history; it is a fact that Speer Hardware was the preferred gun dealerin Fort Smith for many U.S. Marshals operating out of Hanging Judge Parker’s Court; should be further researched. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
