Colt New Service Target revolver, .45 Colt caliber caliber, Serial #342003. The pistol is in fine overall condition with a 7 ½” barrel. The pistol retains approximately 90%-95% of its original blue with lightmuzzle wear and a faint drag line on the cylinder. The Rampant Colt emblem is clear and crisp on the left side of the frame. Both the front and back strap are hand checkered. The checkered wood silvermedallion grips are in fine condition with sharp checkering and light handling marks. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings are sharp. According to the consignor’s notes, the pistol was assembledon October 15, 1940 and shipped to Kennedy Bros., Arms, St. Paul, Minnesota on February 14, 1941. The pistol is consecutively numbered with the next lot, both which are referenced on page 51 of the book, Colt NewService Revolvers by Bob Murphy, from the Gil Newton Collection. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
