Colt New Service Factory cut-away from the Colt Factory Collection. The pistol features a 5 ½” barrel, Serial #6614 and is chambered in, 45 Colt caliber. The pistol is in fine overall condition retaining approximately 90% of its original blue finish with Colt marked hard rubber grips which are also in fine condition. The revolver is cut-away on the left side of the frame in two large circular cut outs and on the right side with threelarge and one small cut outs. The cut outs allow inspection of the frame mechanism. The lot includes documentation that the pistol was once part of the Colt Company’s museum collection, where it was referred to as, “New Service Skeletonized (cutaway)”, later donated to the state of Connecticut in 1957. The pistol was later sold in the late 1970’s. The lot further includes a letter from R.L.
