Colt New Navy Model DA revolver, USMC marked on the left side of the frame and on the butt strap, .38 cal., 6” barrel, blue finish, checkered Colt black hard rubber grips, #159344. This gun is in overall good condition with traces of original blue in protected areas with the balance gone to a brown patina with some areas of scattered erosion and pin prick pitting, good bore, action and markings; the grips are overall good. The USMC marking on the butt strap also shows a star stamped with an “I” in the middle. Factory letter confirms configuration except type of stocks “Not listed”; the gun was shipped to the US Government, Assistant Quartermaster, US Marine Corps on July 12, 1901 in a lot of 50. The gun is accompanied by a US military leather one position flap holster in overall fair + condition showing cracking and some flaking. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
