Close Encounters Prototype Alien Head
When Stephen Spielberg first decided to develop "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind", his major concern was the end of the film where actual aliens are shown. He was well aware that in the past, aliens in sci-fi movies were usually either silly looking, fake, or laughable, and almost always a disappointment. His whole concept was that this "encounter" must look, and feel as real as possible. This is really happening in our world. In order to come to the right look, he went through thousands of initial design drawings, and even more prototypes, until he found what he wanted. And it paid off, creating one of the most unforgettable sequences in film history. This is one of the later prototype heads created for the final aliens. It is what they call a "paint test" head. As you can see, it is much closer to the what we finally seen, than earlier versions. The head is made of latex, and carefully painted to enhance the shape of the skull and the eyes (he always wanted to aliens to have a child-like innocence to them, rather then the usually evil invaders. This prototype is in perfect condition. It measures approx. 14"x 9" x 8"). Comes with a COA.
