Unusual collection of photographs associated with aviation pioneer Clarence Chamberlin and his famous passenger Charles A. Levine, who he took on the first transatlantic passenger flight in 1927 aboard his plane 'The Columbia.' Includes: a vintage glossy 6.75 x 6 photo of 'The Columbia' in flight from New York to Berlin, signed in fountain pen, "Clarence Chamberlin" and "Chas. A. Levine"; a vintage glossy 9.5 x 6.5 of the pair examining the plane's damaged propellor, signed in fountain pen, "Clarence Chamberlin" and "Chas A. Levine"; four original vintage 5 x 3.5 photographs of Chamberlin and Levine at Le Bourget, Paris on June 30, 1927; an original vintage 5 x 7 photograph of Chamberlin and Lloyd W. Bertaud holding a large kite; an original vintage 5 x 7 photograph of Charles Lindbergh shaking hands with Chamberlin; and an original vintage glossy 5.5 x 3.5 photo of Chamberlin winning a prize. In very good to fine condition, with moderate overall creasing, trimmed edges, and a few edge tears to the signed photos.
