Rare color 7.25 x 4.5 ticket for the royal world premiere of the 1964 film A Hard Day's Night at London's Pavilion Theatre July 6, 1964, signed and inscribed on the reverse in blue ballpoint by Ringo Starr, Rolling Stones guitarists Brian Jones and Keith Richards (who adds the inscription, "Best Wishes to Geoff"), and by actor Wilfrid Brambell, who played Paul McCartney's grandfather in the film. Issued as Seat No. 15, Dress Circle Row G, the ticket shows heart-shaped portraits of each Beatle, and notes the attendance of Princess Margaret and the Earl of Snowdon. In fine condition, with strips of toning to vertical edges of signed side, and a small tear and pin hole to top edge of ticket side. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the niece of the recipient, in part: "My great aunt Kate Canty was an actor and later a casting director with London Press Exchange...she met and cast many famous actors, film stars and musicians. This is how she, and her associates, collected signatures and photos." The world premiere of A Hard Day's Night was a momentous event and an early birthday present for Starr, who turned twenty-four the following day. The Beatles' first film proved to be a huge commercial and critical success, adding even greater momentum to the Beatlemania spectacle. A unique combination of famous signers, each a notable figure in the realm of British entertainment. Pre-certified REAL.
