The sculpture captures the Hellenic deity, Artemis, goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women. She can be envisioned standing among the dust that drifts like gold particles in the eternal sun of an enchanted forest. She hunts a bird in flight as we witness her release; her arm hanging gracefully in the air while the bow is held high, marking the direction of the arrow. A heavy robe twines about her form as one of her hunting dogs yaps at her feet. The handmade bronze sculpture was molded using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the artist A. Moreau's signature. Condition: This sculpture is in perfect condition.
