The Native American Indian chief stands, with eyes held high, asking the Great Spirit to protect and give victory to their tribe against their adversaries. He is dressed in full chief attire in the time of war. He sports the typical buckskin, tasseled leggings with moccasins. Around his neck he wears a bear claw necklace; the black bear is special with great spiritual power. It is believed to protect and bring good health to the person wearing it. He is crowned with a buffalo horn headdress that was the traditional regalia of certain Plains Indian warriors. The headdresses were of buffalo hide with buffalo horns attached, and as seen in the sculpture, war feathers and buffalo fur as well. The headdress is significant in spiritual and ceremonial importance and only distinguished male warriors wore this sacred kind of regalia. He was captured using the ancient method of lost wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish. The chief is mounted upon a black marble base. Bronze dimensions with marble base: Height 20 X Width 8 inches. Weight: 20 lbs. Please Note: This is a reproduction bronze sculpture from the original molded and signed. This featured bronze sculpture is a recast after the original, and has been done recently. This 100% bronze sculpture is an abstract piece certain to be a conversation piece.
