Oil on canvas portrait of an old lady knitting. SIgned and attr. A. Rosenthal on lower left corner. 10 x 7.5 in. (25.4 x 19.1 cm). Albert Rosenthal was a painter, etcher, and lithographer from New Hope, Pennsylvania. Albert worked and studied with his father, engraver Max Rosenthal, from an early age. Formally he also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and later in Munich. PROVENANCE: Private collection, Montreal, QC
