The straight, single-edged, handforged blade of laminar construction.In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with silver mounts.First quarter of the 19th century. Said to have come from Heraclea Trachinia, by tradition the resting place of Herakles; a colony was founded there by the Spartans during the Peloponnesian Wars.
