The impressive silver mounts wrought in exceptionally high relief throughout. The hilt with horn grips with rolled pommel, the guard recurved and embellished with flowering vines issuing from vases. In its wooden scabbard covered in black leather, the silver locket, chape and suspension bands likewise embellished in superb relief, with elaborately-coiled seam as is typical. Fitted with a long, lightly-curved and single edged blade forged of actively-patterned Persian wootzdamascus steel with a collection number at the forte. Mounts struck with the hallmark of the short-lived Sultan Mustafa IV (r. 1807-1808.) Beginning of the 19th century.Minor wear to grips and leather.Overall length 101.8 cm. Condition II
