An archetypal example, with large Indian basket hilt, the long backspike designed for two-handed use. Elaborately inlaid in gold overall, the grip with original woven silk wrap and padded velvet liner. The massive blade etched with a decorative damascus pattern, expanding continuously toward the tip, and terminating in an obtuse angle with distinct back edge. Mounted to the hilt by a complex seating process, elaborately pierced, profiled and inlaid throughout with flowering vines in gold. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard bound with silver braid.
