Up for your consideration is this beautiful 2001 PCGS Heat damaged/toned World Trade Center Recovery $1 American Silver Eagle.

PCGS only certified a total of 20 of these historical beauties back in 2002.

These coins have become to be known as "Heat Toned Monsters" by collectors and dealers alike.

These 2001 WTC heat toned/damaged silver eagles are rarely offered and are one of the most sought after WTC recovered coins by collectors worldwide.

This coin has clear electic blue/purple heat tone due to the heat as a direct result of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 that can be clearly seen with a naked eye.

The 2001's and a couple of the 1987's are the only silver eagles that were heat damaged and toned like this, and no two coins are alike.

Here's an example of a 1987 on the site that starts with the letter "e" item number 230666038468 on sale for a whopping $7500!

We are also offering a 1999 "Certified Heat Damaged/warped" Gold Canadian Maple in lot #55.

The few examples that have ever traded hands have been sold for about $2300 each on average.($2200 being the lowest & $3600 being the highest)

The last known example of this coin sold for at auction for $2875 (Jan 12')

The last known offering of a 1987 was offered for over $3800 back in Sept.2011
