18CMT-1 COLT 1862 #42Colt Model 1862 Police percussion revolver, .36 caliber, desirable 6 ½” barrel, wood grips, Serial #42. The pistol is in very good overall condition with an overall grey/brown patina, muted case hardening onthe frame and approximately 90% of the silver still on the straps. The barrel is Hartford marked and the serial number 42 is visible in one of the cylinder flutes. The smooth wood grips retain a significant amount of the original varnish and all visible serial numbers are matching. There is a small amount of pin prick pitting noted on the barrel and rammer. The action functions crisply and the bore is good. A nice honestearly two digit serial number Colt circa 1861. Est.: $2,500-$4,000.
