1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-984, Pollock-1104, R.7, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. Ex: New Millennium Collection. The obverse shows a Bust of Liberty facing right, surrounded by the peripheral legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and IN GOD WE TRUST on a scroll below. Liberty wears a diadem inscribed LIBERTY, and her hair is tied in a bun. On the reverse, the denomination 50 CENTS is centered in an oak and laurel wreath, with STANDARD SILVER above, and the date 1870 below. The 1 in the date is repunched. Struck in copper with a plain edge. This example is well made, with lovely golden-brown and orange-red surfaces. A faint planchet streak crosses the forehead and a few tiny flyspecks are seen on the upper obverse. The reverse is blemish-free save for a small spot near the center.Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
