October 18, 1802-Dated Federal Period, Partly-Printed Document Signed, “Jona Trumbull” as Governor of Connecticut, measuring 12.25” x 7.5”, 1 page, New Haven, (CT.), Very Fine. Being a boldly printed and fully executed Military Commission appointing Ephraim Richards as “Ensign of the 11th Company in the 5th Regiment of Militia in said State...” Overall quite attractive having some minor scattered light tone and wear. The Embossed official State Seal of Connecticut is fully intact and boldly impressed at the upper left. The signature “Jona Trumbull” at lower right is boldly written in rich brown ink measuring a very large 4” long. Overall, a document that will display nicely.
