1780-Dated Revolutionary War Period, Lifetime of Subject Engraved Portrait fully titled, “SAMUEL ADAMS, Esq. - One of the Delegates from the Province of Massachusetts-Bay to the General Continental Congress of North-America.” Choice Near Mint.
Impressive, original historic 1780 Engraving: “Samuel Adams, Esq. One of the Delegates from the Province of Massachusetts-Bay to the General Continental Congress of North-America.” This historic Engraving was produced for “An impartial History of the War in America, between Great Britain and her colonies, from its commencement to the end of the year 1779, London: Printed for R. Faulder, 1780.” Even the book itself, when available, is quite rare and when found, is usually missing the historical engraved plates. The Engraving itself measures 4 3/8" x 6 7/8" and is expertly mounted onto a 10" x 12" sheet and matted for display. An beautiful original, period Engraving from 1780, with a seated Sam Adams having a document regarding the “Reduction of CANADA” in his right hand while eying a Map of CANADA with a tool for measuring distance in his left hand.
